Why petrol and diesel engines are the most widely used?

Petrol and diesel are widely used because it produces 19.5 and 92 gallons/barrel respectively. Petrol is commonly used for light fuels such as road transport whereas diesel fuels are used for marine gas oil.

A
the distillation process aims to separate this crude oil into fractions. Crude oil is first heated and then put into a distillation column where different products boil off and are recovered at different temperatures.
