(24 cards)
volume of cone
v = 1/3 πr^2h
area of cirlce
πr^2
circumfrance
2πr
area of triangle
1/2bh
special right triangle (30, 60, 90)
across from 90 = 2x
across from 30 = x
across from 60 = x√3
special right triangle (45, 45, 90)
across from 45 = s
across from 90 = s√2
volume of parallelegram
v = lwh
volume of cylinder
v = πr^2h
volume of sphere
v = 4/3πr^3
volume of pyramid
v = 1/3lwh
the number of radians of an arc in a circle
2π
formula of a line
y = mx + b
(m = slope) (b = where the line crosses y axis)
midpoint formula
(x1 + x2/2, y1 + y2/2)
distance formula
√(x2-x1)^2 + (y2-y1)^2
slope formula
m = y2 - y1/x2-x1
formula for a circle
(x-h) +(y-k) = r^2
formula of parabola
y = ax^2 + bx + c
vertex formula of a parabola
y = a(x-h)^2 + k
open up/ down
y = a(x-h)^2 + k
((h, k) is the vertext ) (if a is positive it opens right, if it is negative it opens left)
formula for compound interest
a = P(1+r)^t
(a is final amount) (r is the interset rate in decimal form) (t is the number of times the interest is compounded)
imaginary number
i^2 = -1 (i = √-1)
quadratic/linear # of solutions (intersections
- make y isolated
- set equations to equal each other
- get the term to equal 0
- use appropiate discriminent
- solve for constant
b 2 -4(a)(c)>0, two real solutions
b 2 -4(a)(c)=0, one real solutions
b 2 -4(a)(c)<0, zero real solutions (2 imaginary solutions)
ALMOST CIRCLE FORMULA/RADIUS
- Make sure all letters on left, all #’s on right
- Take ½ the coefficient of the “x” and square it
- Add #2 to the right side
- Do same thing with the “y” coefficient
- Add #4 to right side
- Add up all #’s right side
- Take square root of #6 and that’s the radius
