Q

How do you now how many number spaces there should be behind a decimal, when multiplying decimals.

A

1set up like a normal muliplication problem
2Ignore the decimal points while you multiply
3then count the decimal places in the numbers you multiplied.
4.Starting from the right, count however many places to the left and insert the
decimal point

Q

how do you divide decimals? if the divsor is a whole number

A
  1. Set up the problem. Since the divisor (the number you are dividing by)
is a whole number, place the decimal point in the answer directly above
the decimal point in the dividend (the number you are dividing).

Q

how do you divide decimals, if the divsor is a decimal

A

make the divisor a whole number by shifting the decimal point to the right. Then, shift the decimal point in the dividend the same number of places to the right. Finally, perform regular long division

Q

how do you change a decimal to a fraction?

A

To change a decimal to a fraction, write the number without the
decimal point over the place value of the last decimal digit. Reduce.
EXAMPLE”: 0.35 as a fraction
35/100 (put 35 over 100 as a fraction and reduce as much as possible) the answer will be 7/20s
