Integer
Any positive or negative whole number, including 0
Prime number
A whole number greater than 1 that cannot be divided evenly by any other number except 1 and itself
Composite number
Can be divided evenly by numbers other than 1 and itself
Rational number
Include all integers, decimals, and fractions. Any terminating or repeating decimal number is a rational number
Irrational numbers
Cannot be written as fractions or decimals because the number of decimal places is infinite, and there is no recurring pattern of digits within the number
Real numbers
All the numbers you can find on the number line — basically, any number you can think of that isn’t imaginary
Factors
Numbers you can multiply together to get another number
Common factor
A number that divides exactly into two or more other numbers
Greatest common factor (GCF)
The largest number that is a factor of two or more numbers
Multiple
A multiple of a number is the result of that number multiplied by an integer
