Maths Flashcards
3 formlas for triangle
(Need base and height) bh/2 or 1/2 x bh,
(Need all 3 sides) A = s(s-a)(s-b)(s-c) square root that and s is = a+b+c/2,
(Need 2 sides and angle) 1/2 ab Sin C
Area of parallelogram formula
A = bxh
Rhombus Area formula
A = D1xD2/2
Area of kite formal
A = D1xD2/2
Trapezium area formula
a+b/2 x h
Area and Circumference of a circle
A = pie x r^2, C = 2 x pie x r
Pythagoras Theorem
a^2+b^2=c^2
Sine, Cos, Tan
Sin = Opp/Hyp, Cos = Adj/Hyp, Tan = Opp/Adj
Step of finding the bearing of location
Measure the angle starting from North
Measure the angle clockwise from North
Always use 3 digits when writing answer (e.g 077 degrees)
Simple Interest Formula
I = PRT
Compound Interest Formula
A = P (1+r/n)^nt
Area of Triangular prism
V = LxWxh,/2, LxW(of base/ the triangle), h(height is not the triangle height, it’s the prism from the triangular base)
Surface Area of Pyramid
SA= A+1/2 ps
A= Area of base
p= perimeter of base
s= slant height
Volume of Triangular Pyramid (not prism)
V = 1/3 Bh
B= Base Area
h= height
Volume of Square Pyramid (not prism)
V= 1/3b x b^ x h
b^2 because is a SQAURE pyramid
Surface Area and Volume of Cube
SA = L^2 x 6
V=L^3
Surface Area and Volume of a Sphere
SA = 4 x pie x r^2
V = 4/3 pie r^3 (make sure to put ^3)
Volume of Cylinder
V = Ah, (pie x r^2 x h)
A = Area of base of cylinder(the circle), which is pie x r^2
h= height
Formula to find density
p= m/v
N.B Not actually a p, I don’t have the sign for density that’s why.
p= density
m= mass
v= volume
Directly proportional, indirectly or inversely proportional
Directly proportional - x = ky x = the sign times y
Inversely proportional - x = k/x x = the sign 1/y
Remember, if the question asked you to square or cube something, then do so.
E.g . x = k/x^2
