Q

If you are finding something AND something else in probability, do you add or times?

A

Times the probabilities together

17
Q

In probability if you want to find the probability of something OR something happening, do you add or times?

A

You add the probabilities together

18
Q

What piece on equipment is helpful when working with loci?

19
Q

When factorising quadratic X2 +bx +c, the two numbers must…

A

add to give b and multiply to give c

20
Q

How can you tell if a number is divisible by 3?

A

The digits add up to a multiple of three

21
Q

How can you tell if a number is divisible by 7.

A

Double the last digit and take from the rest of the number, if the difference is a multiple of 7 it is in the 7 times table.

E.g. 455 - double 5 is 10. 45-10 =35 so 455 is multiple of 7

22
Q

What is a surd?

A

A surd is a square root of a non-square positive integer.

It is an irrational number.

Examples include square root of 7 comma space square root of 12 comma square root of 99.
