A

Data that involves numbers and can be measured objectively - immediately quantifiable

What is qualitative data?

A

Words and data based on subjective interpretation of language - only quantifiable if the data is put into categories and the frequency is controlled

What are the problems with qualitative data?

A

Hard to analyse- need interpretation which can be inaccurate
Isn’t easy to categorise/collate into answer types
Can be left with a lot of responses that can’t be summarised

What is a meta-analysis?

A

The process of combining results from a number of studies on a particular topic to provide an overall view of
Allows us to view data with more confidence and generalise it across much larger populations

A

Can be prone to publication bias - researcher leaves out studies with bad results
