The Duke visits Mariana and arranges for Isabella to meet her - doesn’t tell Mariana about this. Isabella arrives, telling the Duke about Angelo’s garden/where the two plan to meet.
Isabella walks with Mariana, and tells her of the plan; she agrees to do it. The Duke tells her she wont be sinning.
4.2 Summary:
Opens in via media, Pompey is hired as an executioner and talks to Abhorson about his role, the Duke tells the Provost about the substitution after receiving no news of a pardon from Angelo (rather the opposite).
