Borrelia recurrentis**: epidemic relapsing fever (Pediculus humanus corporis)
**Borrelia hermsii: Endemic relapsing fever (Ornithodoros)
*BOrrelia burgdorferi & garinii: Lyme disease, Ixodes scapularis

What are hte 3 lice?
Pthirus pubis = crab louse (direct injury only), ONLY PARASITIZES a man
Pediculus humanus capitis = head lous
Pediciulus humanus coporis = body louse
What is the morphology of Pthirus pubis?
Crab-like body
3 pairs of legs
- 1st pair: holds skin for feeding
- 2nd & 3rd pair: holds hair
MOT: sexual contact
What ar the 4 mites?
*Sarcoptes scaibei hominis = scabies (galis aso)
*Trombiculidae = chigger mites
*Demodex folliculorum = follicular mites (present with black heads when squeezed out)
*Dermatophagoides spp = house dust mite
