Acetaminophen Adult and Ped Dose
975 mg
15mg/ kg to a Max of 975 mg
Acetaminophen Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity
- Liver or renal insufficiency
- Undergoing Chemotherapy
ASA Dose
160 mg PO
ASA Contraindications
-Hypersensitive
- Active GI bleed
- Hx of asthma with sensitivity to ASA
Gravol Dose
50 mg SIVP/ IM every 4 hours
25 mg for pts over 65 Years old
Gravol Contraindications
Hypersensitive to Gravol, Benadryl, or propylene glycol
Narrow angle glaucoma
Pts who have ingested large amounts of depressants (ETOH)
Benadryl Dose
Elixir- 50 mg PO
1mg/ kg IM/ SIVP to a max of 50 mg
D50W Dose - Hypoglycaemia
25 mg SIVP every 5 min to a Max of 50 mg - titrated to improve BGL to 4.0 mmol
D50W Dose - Hypoglycaemia with a STROKE
12.5 g SIVP Repeat in 5 min only if BGL is less than 3.0 mmol , to a max of 25 mg
D50W Dose - Hypoglycaemia with head injury
12.5 g repeat in 5 min if BGL less than 4.0 mmol, to a max of 25 g
EPI - Dose for Anaphylaxis
0.3 mg repeat in 5 mins to a total of 0.9 mg
EPI - Bronchospasm with impending respiratory failure
0.3 mg IM repeat in 20 mins to a max of 0.9 mg
Glucagon Dose for adult Hypoglycaemia
1 mg IM every 15 min to a total of 2 mg
Ibuprofen Dose And Contraindications
400 mg PO
- Hypersensitive to ibuprofen or other NSAIDS
-Asthma
-Hx of significant renal disease, except renal colic
-Suspected Intracranial bleeding - Diagnosis of Chrons/ ulcerative colitis/ IBD
-Hx of GI bleed
-Sub-arachnoid hemorrhage (thunder clap headache)
-Pregnancy
-Pt taking oral anticoagulants
-Use caution when administering to a pt 65 years or older
DO NOT give if pt has taken max dose within 6 hours
Ipatropium Bromide adult dose
1 puff every 30-60 sec to a max of 15 puffs
20 mcg per puff
Have pt hold breath for 5-10 seconds and have 5 breaths into the chamber before removing it
500 mcg nebulized - to a Max of 1500 mcg
Naloxone Dose
0.05 mg IV ( diluted 1mg & 9 ml saline ) 0.5 ml every 2 mins until respiratory effort begins
Or 0.8 IM every 5 mins to a Max of 3.2 ( 4 doses )
Or 2 mg intranasal every 3-5 mins to a max of 4 mg ( 2 doses )
Nitro Dose
0.4 mg SL every 5 mins as needed or until SBP less than 100 mmHg
Patch- 0.8 mg/HR
Nitro Contraindications
SBP less than 100
Right ventricular infarct
Pts taking phosphodiesterase inhibitors- Mandatory OLMC
Nitrous Oxide dose
Self administered
Nitrous Oxide Contraindications
- Inability to follow verbal instructions
- Intoxicated with drugs or alcohol
- Head injury with altered mental status
- Thoracic injury suspicious for pneumothorax
- Abdominal pain and distension suspected bowel obstruction ( because of its capacity to diffuse into air-containing spaces )
— Invert canister 3 times prior to administration
— administer early while obtaining IV assess for acp giving narcotics
Oral Glucose Dose
25 g PO do not repeat dose
Oral glucose contraindications
Unconscious Pt
Sp02 target for General Hypoxemia
92% -96%
Sp02 Target for acute stroke
Do not give unless under 90% Titrated to 92%-96%
