A

Induces and maintains anesthia, induces amnesia. Used in local regional, & MAC
Monitor:LOC and respiratory depression
Reverse with Romazicon

Neuromusclular blocking agents: succinylocholine

A

Inhibits action of acetylcholine at the neuro muscular junction
Facilitates endotracheal intubation,promotes skletal muscle relaxation to enhance access to surgical sites
Monitor return of muscle strength, RR & rhythm until pt can cough & return to baseline

Dantrolene (Dantrium)

A

Slows metabolism,reduces muscle contraction
Uses:Malignant hyperthermia/muscle spacticity
Monitor pt closely,causes drowsiness causes thrombophlebitis if given IV
