Treatment in the Middle Ages?

A

Physicians and doctors had some training at church-run university.

Doctors studied Urine charts and astrology to diagnose and treat illness and had access to leechbooks and herbal remedies.

Doctors only treated the rich, most illness was treated by local healers mostly woman.

Woman acted as midwives, doctors didn’t attend child birth.

Wise woman provided herbal remedies and advise in disease and illness.

Hospitals were places of rest and recuperation as were usually attached to monasteries or convents.
