Blood thinner, usually sub cut, IV for cardiac event, prevent blood clot, atrial fibrillation, hypolipidemea
Sodium Chloride
Only “regular” insulin can IV, fast acting
Valproic Acid
Seizure for peds, eventually need to change seizure med due to increased seizure threshold
Phenobarbital
Seizure med
Furosemide
Aka lasix, diuretic, water pill, CHF, potassium is removed with urine
Normal Sodium
135-145
Normal potassium
3.5 to 5, potassium is removed with urine, hyperkalemia is difficult to treat
Most prevalent electrolyte in cells?
Potassium, circle k
Dermabond
Skin glue, used for clean wound, don’t need removal as stitches do
Elixir
Used for children, or pt with swallowing problem
Clindamycin HCL
Antibiotic, pt will be allergic to other -mycins, too
