Nitroglycerin
For angina, BP control. Place under tongue to dissolve. Can take up to 3 doses at 5 minute intervals, if pain unrelieved in 5 min should call 911.
AEs: orthostatic hypotension, headache.
Metoprolol for MI
Has antidysrhythmic and antihypertensive properties to decrease the imbalance between myocardial oxygen supply and demand. Reduces after load, slows heart rate.
AEs: bradycardia, hypotension. Hold if pulse <60bpm. NOT for clients with asthma.
