Q

Membrane protiens

A
Integral = embedded in lipid bilayer, receptors
Transmembrane = extend through membrane, transporters / channels

Q

Specialised cell junctions

A

Desmosomes = adhering junctures that anchor cells together
Tight junctions = join lateral edges of epithelial cells together near their lumenal membranes
Gap junctions = communicating junctions, allow for movement of small molecules / ions
