Describe the multi-store model of memory:
A
- flow of info
- through an info processing system
- environmental stimuli enters sensory memory
- stimuli needs attention or it will decay
- if given attention, transferred to STM
- info is encoded+rehearsed
- if info not rehearsed, it will not remain in STM
- will not remember this info
- further rehearsal info moves from STM to LTM
- when in LTM, info remains for a long period of time until it is retrieved back into STM
