Memory Item EPs Flashcards
Ops/limits emergency procedures (7 cards)
1
Q
Fire, Smoke, or Fumes in Aircraft Interior
A
- Fire bill – Activated – (P)
- Oxygen – As required – (ALL)
Warning:
- Remove personnel overcome by smoke/fumes from scene of fire before administering oxygen. Keep oxygen bottles away from scene of fire.
- If flammable fumes are present, electrical equipment not required to complete the next two steps should not be turned on or off until the fumes are eliminated.
2
Q
Engine Failure or Fire
A
- Throttle – Idle – (P, CP, E)
- Start Lever – Cutoff – (P, CP, E)
Caution:
- It is possible for bus tie breakers to remain open after generators trip off because of underspeed. Press GEN CONTR OFF switch to close bus tie breaker to prevent loss of power to that bus.
3
Q
Sudden loss of cabin Pressure
A
- Oxygen – On – ALL
Warning
- Oxygen masks in crew rest area crew service units do not extend automatically.
4
Q
Aborted Takeoff
A
- Brakes – as required – P
- Throttles – IDLE – P
- Speed Break Lever – Full up – P
- Reverse Levers – As required – P
Caution:
- Be prepared to adjust thrust of unsymmetrical engine for directional control.
5
Q
Abort Criteria
A
- Fire
- Failure of either nosewheel tire
- Rudder boost failure
- Engine malfunction which makes the aircraft unsafe for flight
- Engine does not reach required N1 setting by 80 KIAS
- Sounding of the takeoff warning horn
- Windshear encountered
6
Q
Go Around Criteria
A
- Excessive descent rate as the aircraft crosses the threshold
- The aircraft will not touchdown within the first third of the runway
- The aircraft is not within 20 feet of centerline, wings level, at touchdown
- Hard, high bounce
- Safety checks not completed by 200 feet AGL
7
Q
Stop Start Criteria
A
- If light-off does not occur within 10 seconds of setting start lever to idle (wet start)
- Fuel flow above 500pph before light-off (possible hot start)
- Positive oil pressure not indicated by starter cutout
- EGT approaching 725 C (impending hot start)
- If starter fails to cutout (valve indicator does not go out or duct pressure does not increase) by 55% N2, call “stop start” and close engine bleed air valve to prevent starter damage.
