Standard emergency brief

A

In the event of an emergency during push back or taxi, we will ask the ground team to stop the push, come to a stop set the parking break and confirm the failure.

On take-off below 100 kts we will consider stopping for anything. From 100 kts to V1 we will only stop for an engine fire, failure, severe loss of thrust, or anything that prevents us from safely flying the aircraft. As the captain it is your decision to call stop. If you call stop what are your actions? (CPT)

I will call stop in a loud voice, close the thrust levers and apply maximum reverse thrust. I will monitor the autobrake being prepared to take over with full manual control if required keeping the aircraft on the centreline. Once we come to a stop I will cancel the reverse thrust, set the parling break and call attention crew at stations. What are your actions? (FO)

I will call reverse, green, decel, call 70 kts and let ATC know that we are stopping on the runway. Once we come to a stop I will standby with the emergency evacuation checklist and any subsequent ECAM actions.

On take-off, in the event of an engine failure after V1 there will be no actions below 400 ft except from raising the landing gear and cancelling any ECAM warnings. On the take-off roll I will cancel any drift and keep the aircraft parallel to the centreline and wait for you rotate call. I will pitch the aircraft up to 12.5 degrees at roughly 3 degrees per second, trim out the rudder, engage the autopilot and pull heading.

Above 400 ft (xxx on baro) I will ask you to confirm the failure, once confirmed I will call for ECAM actions until the engine is secure. Once the engine ‘engine secure’ and we are above EO acceleration altitude I will push V/S to level off, accelerate and retract the flaps on schedule. I will ask you to activate the secondary flight plan, we will do ‘attention crew at stations’ and make an appropriate call to ATC.

Upon reaching green dot I will push to level off, select thrust MCT and once above 1500ft (xxxx ft baro) and in the clean configuration we will turn towards the engine out fix which is a left/right turn to waypoint xxx and take up the hold. We will climb to MSA and begin troubleshooting.

Consider LAND ASAP RED fire scenario.
