Ovulation is the cycle where a mature egg is released from the ovary every 28 days.

the hormone that causes the egg to mature

What causes the egg to be released
The production of oestrogen causes the utherus to get a thick lining and when its ready the egg is relseased
Why are the changes to the uterus important?
The lining in the uterus is there for the baby to grow
FSH
Causes eggs to mature
Stimulates the ovary to produce oestrogen
LH
Triggers ovulation
Oestrogen
Causes the lining of the uterus to develop
Inhibits the release of FSH
Stimulates release of LH
Progesterone
Maintains lining of the uterus
Inhibits the release of both FSH and LH.
