What are periods
A
Around once a month blood from the lining of the uterus leaves the body through the vagina - each period lasts between 3 and 7 days

A
Bleeding stops. The lining of the uterus begins to re-grow.

A
An egg is released from one of the ovaries. This is called ovulation.

A
Contraception is where you have sexual intercourse but avoid pregnancy.

How do condoms work
A
A condom is a thin layer of latex rubber which fits over an erect penis. It prevents semen being released into a womens vagina.
