what is health?
A state of complete physical, social and mental well-being and free of disease and illness
What is mental health?
A sense of well-being, confidence and self-esteem
what is self-esteem?
Self-esteem describes a person’s overall sense of self-worth or personal value.
what is stress?
The body’s way of responding to a particular demand, positively or negatively.
what is mental illness?
A condition that significantly affects how a person feels and thinks.
what is resilience?
The ability to overcome or bounce back from challenging or difficult situations.
why is self-esteem important?
It gives us confidence, it gives us goals to achieve more easily, help us stay healthy and make us more ccharismatic.
What happens to people when their physical health is low?
They lose or gain weight, they are fatigued every time, they lack sleep, they have a higher risk of illness and they have a higher risk of injury.
what happens to people when their social health is low?
they have for confidence they are isolated and they have poor communication.
what happens to people when their emotional health is low?
They have low self-esteem, they are emotionally unstable, they have no goals set, they are stressed out, they’re depressed and anxious.
what is self awareness?
A conscious knowledge of one’s own character, feelings and dreams.
what is the smart goal?
Specific, mEasurable, Attainable, Realistic and Time-bound
what are symptoms of stress?
Cold sores,low energy levels, frequent colds and infections, change in normal behavior and emotions, hair loss, heartbeat goes faster and an upset stomach.
what is anxiety?
A feeling of unease, worry and nervousness about something with an uncertain outcome.
what are causes of anxiety?
Socialsituations, genetics, psychological factors and environmental factors
what is depression?
A medical condition characterized by feelings of extreme sadness and dejection
what are symptoms of depression?
Have stop going out, not getting things done at work or school and relying on alcohol and drugs.
what are symptoms of anxiety?
Panic or anxiety attacks, faintness and avoidance behavior.
what is anorexia nervousa?
An eating disorder that causes physical problems.
what are the symptoms of anorexia nervousa?
Severe weight loss, constipation and food intolerance and loss of periods.
what is bulimia nervousa?
Where someone binge eat with the sense of lack of control then undertake behaviors such as vomiting or exercise to compensate.
what are the symptoms of bulimia nervousa?
Frequent fluctuation in body, stain teeth and loss of periods.
what is obsessive-compulsive disorder?
Where someone has obsessions, recurrent thoughts and images of impulses that are intrusive and unwanted.
what are the symptoms of obsessive-compulsive disorder?
Fear of contamination, harm from illness and excessive concern of symmetry.
