11
Q

How can you prevent iron from corroding?

A

Oiling=coating of oil, mouistire cant react with the iron in the metal and cause rust.
Painting=paint acts as a physical barrier between the metal and any oxygen and water in the enviroment.
Galvanisation=barrier that prevents corrosive substances from reaching the underlying steel on iron

What are polymers?

A

Large molecules made of many repeating monomers

19
Q

What are monomers

A

Molecule that can be bonded to other identical molecules to form a polymer.

20
Q

Thermosetting plastics

A

-Not effected by heat once set
-difficult to recycle
-heated without melting

21
Q

Thermo plastic

A

-Become soft when heated and remoulded
-Can be recycles
