Meterology Flashcards
(23 cards)
Barometer
a tool used to measure air pressure.
Barometric pressure
the pressure of the atmosphere against a surface.
Cirrus cloud
thin, wispy-looking clouds; commonly found at heights greater than 6 km
Climate
The composite or generally prevailing weather conditions of a region.
Cloud
A visual collection of particals of water or ice suspended in the air.
Drought
A period of dry weather
Dew point
The temperature of which air must be cooled
Cumulonimbus cloud

Forecast
To predict, a future condition or occurrence
Front
in weather, the boundary between two masses of air with different properties
Funnel cloud

Hail
Showering perspiration formed in irregular pallets of balls of ice.
Humidity

A tropical cyclone or hurricane
Weather
The state of the atmosphere with respect to wind, temperature, cloudiness, moisture, pressure, etc
Cumulus clouds
They are white puffy and are made up of water droplets. They are flat at the bottom and round at the top.
