Q

True or False:Components in the IDB master file do not control metric-related settings that propagate to lower levels of the metric framework, like the default time periods used for the data.

A

False, the answer is true. Like dashboards, components in the IDB master file control metric-related settings that propagate to lower levels of the metric framework, like the default time periods used for the data. And like dashboards, components act as frames that store one or more records of the next level of the metric frame work: the dashboard resources.

Q

True or False: Dashboard resources are IDK records.

A

True, Dashboard resources are IDK records. Resources store settings related to how the data are actually displayed, like the thresholds that determine the color. Each resource points to its particular metric and displays the data associated with that metric.

Q

True or False: Benchmark definitions (metrics) are not IDN records.

A

Benchmark definitions (metrics) are IDN records. They determine how raw data are summarized into displayable data. If you were asked to find the percentage of active MyChart users, you would divide that number of active users by the total number of users. This definition of how to calculate the desired data, in essence, is a metric. Actually, applying a metric yields the data points that make up the records of the CSF master file.

Q

Explain what is happening here.

A

We find a metric IDN, and we put it into a resource. An IDK record is a resource. An IDK is also known as a dashboard resource. Then we put the IDK into a component which is a IDB-Component. Then we put that on to an IDM a dashboard. They are nested within each other, and we have one level and move on to the next.

Q

Explain the arrows and how they works with the IDM,IDB,IDK, and IDN

A

We have the resource the Idk, and that one row is a resource. Then we have the IDM the component and it is the graph. Then on the whole dashboard we can change the various settings on the dashboard.

What are the exceptions of editing epic released content?

A

The IDK and the IDN records. The Idk and the Inn records you may make changes that directly impact these records without copying them. The system will create an override record to reflect these changes. In order to migrate your records, you will need to enter “based.<recordID>" instead of the record ID.</recordID>

22
Q

In creating a resource, what is the required field?

A

Documenting your build with a meaningful description and an owning application will make maintenance easier, but the only absolutely required field is the record type.

23
Q

How can metrics display data?

A

They can display it as a calculated value or elements of a ratio.
*Elements of the ratio: The numerator, the denominator, or the numerator over the denominator.
*IDK is for display. This is an example of IDK

24
Q

True or False: in Radar Admin, you can click on components to create a component?

A

True, you can also search for the component editor.

25
Q

The help text on the component, where do you see that?

A

That is the one you see in the catalog.

26
Q

In the create component, the data source tab, what does the view as ask order?

A

The view as is what should one row be? We are saying a resource and once we click resource it brings the rest down.
And I say what resources I want and I can add other resources here. In other words, this field determines the meaning of a row in the component

27
Q

In the create component, what is the lookup method ?

A

The look up method can be a flexible or a hard coded of summary targets. It determines how the dashboard resources on a component retrieve the summary targets. Possible options include; User security, login content, override parameter, and specific values.

28
Q

If you want your components to have an override, you need two things to be in place.

A
  1. The dashboard needs parameter settings
  2. On the components themselves have to take the override.
29
Q

When selecting summary level parameters, which components will it have an effect on?

A

This will only affect components that have a lookup method other than specific value set on the data source form. If it is 139

30
Q

Where would you go to add or edit the summary level parameters?

A

Data source tab->Historical Trending-> Summary level-> lookup method -> Value

31
Q

True or False: You cannot configure metrics to display future data?

A

False, some metrics are based on scheduled appointments that exist in the future. You can configure these metrics to display future data based on the date of these scheduled encounters.

Metrics based solely on events that have occurred in the past wont have any measurable future data but can still use this option to display a forecast of future data based on past measurement.

32
Q

True or False: you can use a metric to forecast?

A

true, metric-case components can be set up to forecast future values and display them on a dashboard. You can control:
How many intervals to forecast
Whether the forecast should use mean, median, max, or min of previous values
How many periods from the past to use to generate the forecast.

33
Q

Where can you change your component from trending view to a comparison view?

A

On the columns form, you can change your component from a trending view to a comparison view and chose the values to which you will compare your real data.

34
Q

What is “default Interval and number of periods”?

A

These two fields determine the number and type of time intervals to include. If you select the “Use dashboard date range” box, your choices here will be overridden by the dashboard user on their personal view of the dashboard.

35
Q

Why is the one with the arrow not highlighted in green when looking at summary level parameters?

A

When grouping data by summary level, if the component’s lookup method has the specific value set on the data source form, then that means that they can not be group. It does not allow for override. The others one do allow because they are dynamic. Specific value is hardcoded. Now if we change it to login context or other lookup methods, it become dynamic.

36
Q

How to Add Summary Level Parameters

A
  1. Go to Designer UI and click on the turn think
  2. Click the edit parameters button.
  3. Click on enable summary level parameter check box in the edit parameter.
37
Q

Difference between Summary target versus Resources:

A

The resources: One row per resource. This determines what one row is in your component (granularity). In the picture you have 4 different measurements all being measured for one summary target. One level of aggregation. In the picture, you see EMC Family Medicine and is looking at 4 different measurements, 4 resources.

The summary Target: One row per target. In the picture we have 4 summary targets, 4 different places or departments, locations. All being summarized for one resource: One measurement. Example, one row for each department, show me 5 departments. One row per provider, show me the 7 providers I supervise.

Most commonly you want the resources. You would want to summary targets instead of resources when comparing performance. So, you are comparing things, overall.

38
Q

What is Benchmarking?

A

The ability to compare your organizations to other organizations. 142

39
Q

What are two types of linked report that provide row-level detail?

A

There are two types of linked report that provide row-level detail: SQL drill down reports and reports from reporting workbench.

40
Q

What do SQL drill down reports Execute?

A

SQL drilldown reports execute SQL queries to display row-level drill down about the current summary targets and time interval metric display . You have to set this up. Not every metric will have this.

41
Q

What is Metric deep search?

A

Metric deep search refers to the ability of the analytics catalog to find components that contain certain metrics by searching not only the component (IDB) record, but also the resource (IDK) records attached to it and the metric definition (IDN) Records they point to.143

42
Q

What is User Security?

A

User security is going to compare the user who is log and what ever departments they have under their user security and that is what they will see.

43
Q

What Master file stores dashboard resources?

A

IDK

44
Q

What master file stores metric definitions?

A

IDN

45
Q

If a table component has a data source of report, will it leverage the metric framework?

A

No, A data source of dashboard resource indicates a component will use the metric framework.

46
Q

True or False: A metric definition may only be referenced by one dashboard resource record?

A

False

47
Q

What is summary level?

A

A summary level is a conceptual way to group data. For example, you could group your data by department, and department would be a summary level.

48
Q

What is a summary target?

A

A summary target is a specific entity in a summary level. For example, you might be interested in only the data from one obstetrics department, and that department would be the summary target.

49
Q

True or False: you can you override the dynamic summary target selection?

A

True, rather than allowing each component to individually set its summary target, you may wish to have all components on a dashboard display information about the same target. In the designer UI, you can click enable summary level parameter checkbox in the edit parameter menu to override the dynamic summary target selection of any components and allow dashboard wide summary target selection instead.

This will add a number of new parameters to your dashboard. By Editing the summary level parameter you can click selectable levels to pick which of these levels are appropriate for your dashboard. You should not include summary levels that are not supported by the metrics used in your components.

50
Q

True or False: Enabling summary level parameter will affect all metric based components?

A

True, this parameter will affect all metric-based components that have a lookup method other than specific value set on the data source form.

It will also affect slicer dicer components with a filter mapped to the currently selected summary level.

51
Q

What is benchmarking?

A

Benchmarking is a powerfull feature that allows your users to compare your organizations metric data against data from other epic community members.

52
Q

True or False: You can link slicer dicer sessions?

A

True, dashboard resources can be configured to connect to saved slicer dicer sessions. This is usually done to allow a user to dive in to the data displayed by the metric and explore it themselves. This requires building slicerdicer sessions which closely match the logic of the attached metric (IDN)

53
Q

What is metric deep search?

A

Metric deep search refers to the ability of the analytics catalog to find components that contain certain metrics by searching not only the component (IDB) record but also the resource (IDK) records attached to it and the metric definition (IDN) records to which they point.
