PERS is the intercom connecting Kiosk and Station Platform

Intercom is located in a pylon on platform approximately 200ft from ends of platform

Each Train’s Communication System has

Radio Public Address System Operator has Metro Portable Radio Intercom between Operator & Rear of Each Metro Car - Only works when intercom button is pushed & Operator activates system

Fan Local Control Panel has a switch that can select either:

Automatic Remotely Controlled by OCC & locally by thermostats Fans activate at preset values and can more air either way OCC can only override thermostat control in this mode Emergency Supply Fans will move air into station or Tunnel Red light will be lit to show when in this mode Emergency Exhaust o Fans will move air out of Station or Tunnel o Red light will be lit to show in this mode Off This position is not on all Fan Control Panels

Fans are not exhausting smoke or heat Fan Shaft is located in an Emergency Exit Fans can be placed in “Manual Supply” or “Manual Off” They are ordered to enter There are obvious Rescues to be made & proper notification of conditions has been made & approval has been received

When Units enter such a Shaft

Fans will be manually placed into “Supply” or “Off” depending on how the fan was at arrival If Shaft doesn’t have an “Off” mode, Units will immediately exit & make proper notifications Units will never enter a Fan / Emergency Exit Shaft in exhaust mode
