- blood agar: corrodes area around colony
- head/neck infection, sinusitis, pulm infection, arthritis, endocarditis, intra-abdominal infection

Staph aureus
Strep sp.

Peptostreptococcus
- elongated gram positive coccus in chains

Prevotella melaninogenica
- anaerobic gram negative rod
- blood agar: black colonies

Veillonella sp.
- gram negative diplococcus
