Holds the low to high power objectives and can be rotated to change magnification.
Function of Low Power Objective
Magnifies at 4X.
Function of Medium Power Objective
Magnifies at 10X.
Function of High Power Objective
Magnifies at 40X.
Function of Stage Clips
Holds the slide in place.
Function of Diaphragm
Regulates the amount of light intensity on the specimen.
Specimen- on the slide.
Function of Light Source
Illuminated the specimen by shine bright light through it.
Function of Ocular Lens (inside eyepiece)
Magnifies10 times.
Function of Arm
Support microscope when carried. It also supports the body tube and the objectives.
Function of Stage

How do I make a wet mount slide?
Mention ALL 6 points.
1) Get a cover slip from a teacher.
2) Place 1 drop of water in the middle of the slide. Don’t use too much or the water will run off the edge and make a mess!
3) Place a thin piece of the specimen on the slide.
4) Place 1 dip of iodine solution(plant cells) or bromothymol blue(animal cells) on the specimen to stain the cells.
5) Slowly lower the cover slip on top of the drop (45° angle)
6) Place the slide on the stage and view it first with the 4X Objective. Once you see the image, you can rotate the nosepiece to view the slide with the different objectives.
