Start of middle ages: Swords, farm tools, staffs
End of middle ages: Longbows, cannons

A
Army’s switched to Archers for their main infantry, cavalry remained the same from start to finish with a slight decline in numbers.

How did recruitment and training change?
A
Men practiced longbows every Sunday. Commissioners of Array recruited men by visiting villages and taking them.

What was the impact of war on civilians?
A
Civilians were raped and murdered in raids from the enemy. There possessions were stolen and housing destroyed. Higher taxes so weapons could be bought.
