A gift and helpmeet. He was lonely and Eve was going to be his gift. God created Eve for a purpose, He had faith in her, and she was a good creation.
Why wasn’t Eve scared of the serpent?
Because she hadn’t sinned yet, so she had no sense of fear.

Genesis 3:6; Adam and Eve began to spiritually die

Because he was their father’s favorite. Their hatred goes back to watching the treatment of their mother versus Joseph’s mother.
Why was the Pharoah afraid of Joseph?
Because Joseph saved his own nation and Egyptians, and the Pharoah recognized the blessing of God that was on them.
What do Shiphrah and Puah mean?
Shiphrah = fair; Puah = splendid
What did Shiphrah and Puah do?
They were midwives. The Pharoah gave them instructions to kill every male baby and save every female baby coming out of every womb.
Did Shiphrah and Puah do as the Pharoah asked?
No. They did not because they feared and reverenced God. They risked their own lives to save all babies. God blesses the midwives for saving His people.
What was the Nile River known as?
The giver of life and saver of men.
The Pharoah told the Israelite women to do what?
He told them that if they had a boy, they had to throw it into the river. He told the Egyptians this was making sacrifices to their gods.
What is the meaning of the name Jochebed?
Jehovah is glory; she was a woman of faith.
What does Jochebed do when she bears a son?
Against the Pharoah’s wishes, she doesn’t throw him into the river and hides him for 3 months. She does not fear what the Pharoah says.
What 4 things does Jochebed?
- Makes an ark of bulrushes
- Daubs the ark with slime and pitch, which means she takes what the Egyptians used to embalm bodies so it won’t stink
- Tied flags to the boat so the crocodiles would stay away from the baby.
- Trained her 12-year-old daughter, Miriam, to watch
