Who was Australia taking as workers during the gold rush?
A
- Chinese workers, mainly
- They were accused of stealing gold, and there were a lot of protests which led to the Chinese immigration act of 1861

A
- AKA the Immigration Restriction Act of 1901
- It implied to not let anyone who they didn’t like into the country
- Through this act, dictation tests were placed, which were unfair for immigrants
