What are the effects of the migration?
Over 1 million migrants have made their way to Europe, mostly by sea with some travelling through Turkey
Almost 950,000 people seeking asylum in European counties, the most being 315,000 in Germany
Migrants have been assaulting women in Cologne and Sweden sparking a large backlash to countries allowing migrants in
Anger and hostility from local residents
What have the responses been?
Several borders have been closed to try and limit the amount of migrants moving through countries
Many countries have offered to take in refugees such as Sweden and Germany
In Germany the government has granted powers to revoke asylum for cases against migrants
What are the causes of the migration?
Most migrants are fleeing civil war and ISIS which cause a constant threat to civilians safety
Cities under siege by militants forces, people unable to get food or medicine
People fleeing radical Islam groups putting towns under strict Sharia law
