Procedure of milgrams research

A

40 us men at Yale uni
Meets a confederate disguised as participant
Draw straws. Confederate is always the learner, participant the teacher
Teacher can hear but not see confederate and sat near man in white coat “investigator”
Confederate has to march word pairs. For every incorrect answer the participant must electric shock him. Shocks increased with a dial showing the intensity of shocks with warning signs at 300 volts to 450 volts
Can hear screams and silence
Investigator pressure teacher if seemingly hesitant
