Describe the backround of the study.

  • Milgram based this study on the holocaust where jewish people were systematically killed by the Nazis under the authority of Hitler.
  • Milgram aimed to challenged the “Germans are differnt hypothesis”
  • and propose a situational explanation that many who people who found themselves in a simialr situation would harm or even kill others. Under the orders of an authority figure.
