What is obedience?

A

A form of social influence in which an individual follows a direct order. The person issuing the order is usually a figure of authority (who can punish)

What was the purpose of the study?

A

He wanted to know why the German population had followed the orders of hitler and slaughtered over 10 million Jews, gypsies and other social groups.

How many participants were there? What were they like? How were they acquired?

A

He recruited 40 males participants through newspaper adverts and flyers in post, it said the participants would be tested on memory. Participants were aged between 20 and 50 years, their jobs ranged from unskilled to professional.
