Calcium
Need for making teeth and bones.
Found in dairy products, fish, bread and vegetables

Making teeth and bones, part of many chemicals e.g DNA and ATP.
Found in most foods.

In body fluids, e.g blood.
Common salt found in most foods.
Chlorine
Found in body fluids, e.g blood.
Common salt found in most foods.
Magnesium
Making bows, found inside cells.
In green vegetables.
Iron
Part of hemoglobin in red blood cells, helps carry oxygen.
Found in red meat, liver, eggs, some vegetables e.g spinach.
Mineral Deficiency
If a person doesn’t gets enough minerals from their diet, they get this disease.
For example, not getting enough calcium and vitamin D will lead to poor bones development causing rickets.
Not getting enough iron will make red blood cells carry less oxygen around the body, which will cause anemia, condition where people become tired and lack energy.
