Synchronic - all saying the same thing
Diachronic - all saying the same thing for A LONG TIME
Explain the Snowball Effect.
When more people are converted from majority to minority, it influences more people to convert, and quickens the rate of conversion.
What are the strengths of Minority Influence?
Studies show the importance of consistency, commitment and flexibility
Has real life applications
- minority groups (gay rights etc)
What are the weaknesses of Minority Influence?
Artificial tasks
- less ecological validity
- not like actual minority groups

- many do not want to be radicalised

Define Drawing Attention.
The process of making others aware of the issue
Define Consistency.
The message and the intent behind the campaign is the same (across time and the message itself)
Define Deeper Processing.
Individuals who had simply accepted the status quo start to consider the campaign and consider the ‘unjustness; of the status quo
Define the Augmentation Principle.
Where great sacrifices may happen in the name of the campaign
- may risk their lives through prison or death
Define the Snowball Effect.
Where a gradual change in the minority who are starting to convert the majority to the viewpoint
- more people believe in the campaign

When people have a memory of the change but cannot recall how the change came about
