What is selective focus?
where only a specific area of the foreground is in focus
What deep focus?
where the foreground and backround of the shot is in focus
What is pulling focus?
a change in focus or a move in focus
What is continuity editing?
narrative based editing to create a story, all of the shots are in a continuous, chronological order
What are 3 types of continuity editing?
-shot/reverse shot
-eyeline match
-action match
What is shot reverse shot?
different camera set up made to look like one take from perspectives of people
What is action match?
When one shot is edited to another shot when some action takes place
What is discontinuity editing?
the edit draws attention to itself
no smooth continuous action
What are 3 types of discontinuity editing?
-montage
-intellectual montage
-jump cut
