mitosis Flashcards

(8 cards)

1
Q

what happens during prophase

A
  • chromosomes condense making them more visible
  • the nucleus breaks down making the chromosomes free floating in the cytoplasm
  • the centrioles (bundle of proteins) begin to form spindle fibres

3
Q

what happens during anaphase

A

the spindle fibres contract and the chromosomes pull apart from their centromeres
this allows the chromatids to move to either end of the cell

Q

what happens during telophase

A
