What happens during the prophase stage?
A
During prophase, DNA condenses into chromosomes, and the nuclear envelope begins to break down.

What happens during the metaphase stage?
A
The nuclear envelope is completely gone, and chromosomes allign in the center of the cell, attached to spindles.

What happens during the anaphase?
A
Sister chromatids separate and are pulled towards opposite poles of the cell by the spindle fiber

A
Chromosomes reach the poles, and a new nuclear envelope forms around each set of chromosome
