Mixtures Flashcards

1
Q

How can you use melting points to decide if a substance is pure or a mixture!

A

Melting points allow you to identify pure substances and mixtures because with pure substances all of it will melt at the same temperature, with mixtures not all of the substance will melt at the same temperature

Q

What is a pure substance?

A

A pure substance has the same fixed composition in all parts and so we can’t separate it into other substances using physical methods

Q

What is a mixture?

A

Q

Why will a pubs tan e melt at the same temperature until all the substance has changed state?
