Why do we shiver?
We shiver to keep warm when we lose body heat

Logrolling
Moving a ct as a unit. Kept in alignment at all times. Min 3 ppl usually 4-5 ppl
Why do we reposition ct
Prevent bed sores Reduce pain Allow good breathing Prevent contractures Promote curculation
Fowler Position
Semi-to-upright sitting position in bed
Semi Fowler
Raising the head of the bed 30 to 45 degree angle
Low Fowler
Raise the head of the bed to an 15 to 30 degree angle
High Fowler
Raise head of the bed to 45 to 90 degree angle
Supine Position
Back -lying position used to sleep or rest
Lateral Position
Side lying position
Sims’ Position
Left-side-lying position
Prone Position
Front-lying position with head turned to side
What does bone marrow do?
Bone marrow is where blood cells are manufactured
Safety when mobilizing a pt
Make sure pt is wearing shoes
Follow care plan
Use proper walking device (wheel chair, walker,cane,etc.)
Use proper transfer method
Lift
Moving a ct from one place to another without the ct bearing weight
Transfer
Move a person from one place to another using the ct assistance with partial or full weight bearing
Complications of improper positioning
Pain
Bed sores
Cut off circulation
