Mobs And Tests Flashcards
(39 cards)
Grade 1 mobilization
Small amplitude at beginning of range (for pain relief)
Grade 2 mobilization
Large amplitude within mid-range, not reaching end. (For pain relief)
Grade 3 mobilization
Large amplitude up to end range (for increasing Jimmy mobility)
Grade 4 mobilization
Small amplitude at end range (for increasing joint mobility)
Grade 5 mobilization
High velocity, low amplitude thrust beyond and range (for skilled practitioners only)
Convex-concave rule
Convex on concave- roll and glide opposite
Concave on convex- roll and glide same
Shoulder abduction glide
Interior glide to increase abduction ROM
Hip flexion glide
Posterior House to improve hip flexion
Lachman test
Tests ACL integrity, is most sensitive (SnOut)
Posterior drawer test
Tests PCL integrity
McMurray Test
Tests meniscal tear (+ if click/pain with knee mvmt)
Empty can test
Tests supraspinatus tendon integrity (+ if pain/weakness with resisted ABD in scaption
Finklestein’s tests
De Quervain’s tenosynovitis (+ if pain with ulnar deviation and thumb flexion)
Phalen’s test
Tests for carpal tunnel syndrome (+ if tingling in median nerve distribution)
Anterior drawer (knee)
Tests ACL (mid-level Sn and Sp testing)
Position: Supine, knee flexed and tibia tugged on
Pivot shift test
Tests ACL
Has high SpIn - good at ruling in
Anterior drawer (ankle)
Tests ATFL integrity (+ if excessive anterior talar mvmt)
Thomas test
Tests hip flexor tightness (+ if contralateral hip/leg rises from table)
Position: supine, single leg to chest, monitor extended hip/leg for rise
Obers test
Tests IT band tightness (+ if leg fails to drop below horizontal)
Trendelenburg sign
Tests glute medius weakness (+ if pelvis drops on opposite side of stance leg)
Talar tilt test
Tests CFL (+ if excessive inversion/laxity)
Thompson test
Tests Achilles tendon ruptured (+ if no plantarflexion with calf squeeze)
Mortons test
Test for Morton’s neuroma (+ if pain is present with squeezing of metatarsals)
Apley’s compression
Tests meniscal tear (+ if pain/clicking with downward pressure and rotation)
