Q

Advantage of A.m

A

1-A.m transmission wavebands are broadcast over a very large distances so that one transmitter can serve a large area
2-It is simpler and cheaper

Q

Advantage of F.m

A

On very high frequencies the bandwidth of f.m for broadcast is about 15 Khz which offers high quality for music

Q

Disadvantage of F.m

A

Because f.m can be transmitted over small small local areas, many transmitter are needed to broadcast over a large area

Q

Summary of adv and disc

A

F.m transmission are more expensive than a.m
The area covered is smaller than am
This difference of coverage is an advantage where local radio is concerned but a disadvantage for national radio
Bandwidth of f.m is greater and suffers less noise
