What is legal vs. illegal?
if something is illegal is breaks a rule of conduct or law
What is ethical vs. unethical?
Ethics are principles of right and wrong. Would I want to be treated this way? Does this make me feel guilty?
What is compliance based ethics?
Attempts to prevent climinal misconduct by increasing control and by punishing violators.
What is integrity based ethics?
An environment that fosters responsible employee conduct by creating an environment that supports ethically desirable behaviour.
What is the Sarbances-Oxley Act?
Protects whistleblowers for exposing companies that are breaking the law.
Organizations Corporate social responsibilites are:
Economic; Legal; Ethical; Philanthropic
What is corporate social responsibility?
Making sure companies are taking actions that benefit society, like recycling and providing resources in times of need
