Three major classification of ROAD traffic sign
regulatory sign, warning sign, guide or informative sign
are used to inform road users about the direction and distances of the route that they are following
guide or informative signs
are used to warn road users to the potential hazard along, or adjacent to the road
Warning signs
informs road users of traffic laws and regulation as it indicates the application of legal and statutory requirements
Regulatory signs
Used to indicate signalized intersection and to warn the presence of stop and give way signs
Advance warning or traffic control device sign
this sign are used to indicate the type of Rd. curve ahead of the motorist
Horizontal sign
Sign installed before intersection or junction
intersection signs
this sign indicates the direction in which the motorists are given information or direction.
Advanced direction sign
visible in less than 1 kilometer before an intersection
Intersection direction signs
provides the name of roads and streets that road are passing or entering
Fingerboard direction signs
signs that convey the general information of interest such as geographical location boundaries and features
town names and geographical feature signs
what does AH means ?
Asian highway
these signs instruct the motorist to follow a direction or to obey a course of action. it is a junction with regulatory or warning sign to inform standard treatment, and support the operation of traffic rules
Traffic instructions signs
these are used to emphasize to the approaching driver a mark change in the direction of travel and the presence of an obstruction
Hazard markers
refers to the application of line, symbols and markings on the surface of roads, highways, and parking lots to provide guidance and direction to driver
