TIME
The continuum of experience in which events actually or apparently take place. It is used to specify events.
Chronology
The order of events as they unfold in time.
NARRATIVE
A representation of an event or story.
Duration
How long an actual or recorded event lasts, or seems to take place.
Tempo
The speed at which an activity takes place or seems to take place.
Sequence
The order of a series of events or images.
Actual time
The duration of a real-time event as measured by a clock.
Implied time
The illusion of time and its passing.
Recorded time
Duration, tempo, scope, and sequence captured and preserved in media such as film, video, computer-based technology, and in paint or ink.
Storyboard
A sequence of images representing the shots for a scene in a film or television show; a plan for a sequence of artifacts.
Running time
The duration of an event recorded on sequential media such as video or film; the duration of a performance.
Motion
The actual or implied changing of position.
Kinetic art: Artifacts that are designed to move.
Text/Copy
In graphic design, a body of words, as distinguished from images, in a graphic artifact such us a book or poster.
Implied motion
The illusion of movement and the passage of time or distance.
Recorded motion
The capture of movement with lens-based media.
Word: A sound or combination of sounds, or its representation on writing or printing, that communicates a meaning.
Sound
A vibratory disturbance capable of being detected by the ear.
Recorded sound: Sound that is saved to be replayed as part of an artifact.
Implied sound
A depiction that suggests sound but is actually silent.
