what is Anti-Semitism
Hostility to or prejudice against Jewish people. It became more common in England, fuelled
by rumours, and causing violent attacks.
what was the Black Death?
A bubonic plague pandemic affecting England between 1348 and 1351. This also caused the peasants status to lower.

who was Henry VI and what did he do?
The King of England twice between 1421 and 1461, and 1470 to 1471. he had
poor mental health which prevented him from ruling England well.
who was henry tudor and what did he do?
he was a relative of Edward III, from the house of Lancaster, who successfully challenged Richard III, becoming Henry VII and he started the Tudor dynasty.
Who was joan of arc and what did she do?
A peasant girl living in France who claimed to have heard God,
telling her to drive out the English during the Hundred Years War. Joan of Arc was executed for heresy. She dressed up as a boy and fought battles. In 1431 she led the french army in hundred years war.
What is the Peasants’ Revolt?
it was rebellion against King Richard II that sparked because of issues such as the introduction of a new poll tax. The revolt did not achieve all of its aims resulting in the death of one of its leaders, Wat Tyler. This was inn 1381.
What was poll tax?
Harsh taxes introduced by richard II to pay for wars with france. This was a cause for the peasants revolt.
who is Richard II?
the King of England from 1377 to 1399 who was only 10 years old when he came to the throne.
Who is Richard III?
The King of England from 1483 to 1485 and from the house of York. Richard III was famously depicted as an evil king by William Shakespeare,
and is accused of murdering his nephews to protect his throne. He was defeated by henry tudor in 1485.
what is Serfdom?
Serfs were peasants who were controlled by their landlords, an unable to leave an area owned by their lord.
whats a Tithe?
A tax of one tenth of annual food produced or earnings paid to the Church.

A series of bloody civil wars for control of the English
throne between two royal families: the house of York and the house of Lancaster, symbolised by the white and red rose. In 1461
