What are the classifications of abortions?

A
  1. Threatened abortion- vaginal bleeding but normal pregnancy
  2. Anembryonic- AKA blighted ovum, no embryo
  3. Embryonic demise- AKA missed abortion, dead fetus
  4. Inevitable abortion- in progress
  5. Incomplete abortion- some products of conception have passed but some remain
  6. Complete abortion- all products have passed
  7. Habitual abortions- 3 or more consecutive abortions
  8. Septic abortion- infected products of conception
