What is direct support?
a mission or force requiring a force to support another force and authorizing is to answer directly to the supported forces request for assistance.
What is general support?
support given to the supported force as a whole and not to any particular subdivision thereof
What is close support?
actions of supporting force against targets or objectives that are sufficiently near the supported force as to require detailed integration or coordination of the supporting action
What is mutual support?
support which units render each other against an enemy because of their assigned tasks their position relative to each other and to the enemy and their capabilities
What are the principles of air defense?
1) Mass - concentration of air defense combat power
2) mix - offset limitations of one system with another
3) Mobility - ability to move while retaining ability to fulfill primary role
4) Integration - putting forces, systems, functions and processes together to accomplish AMD tasks
