Calculating the equilibrium constant from measured equilibrium concentration

A
  1. write out the formula
  2. make an ICE table with the initial molarities.
based on one of the equilibrium concentrations calculate the rest based on stoichiometry
  3. plug into the equilibrium consent formula

Q

finding the equilibrium concentration form the equilibrium constant and initial concentration or pressures

A
  1. set up and ice box with initial concentration
  2. Calculate the reaction quotient using the initial concentration. Compare the answer to see which direction the reaction proceeds. Which ever way the reaction proceeds add x there
  3. plug the final equilibrium into the equilibrium equation and solve for x
